Rivière-du-Loup | Victims of massage therapist assault wanted by SQ

According to the Sûreté du Québec, massage therapist Steve Pellerin, who was arrested in Rivière-du-Loup on Wednesday for sex crimes, may have caused other victims. Police are seeking the public’s help in the investigation.

A 49-year-old man from Notre-Dame-du-Portage in Bas-Saint-Laurent appeared Wednesday in Rivière-du-Loup on new charges of sexual assault.

“The events must have taken place between 1R June 2005 and July 28, 2022 as part of her work as a massage therapist,” notes the Sûreté du Québec (SQ) in a press release issued Thursday.

The accused may have carried out this work in several regions of Quebec and therefore may have caused victims elsewhere in the province. So far, several victims have been identified, leading the Sûreté du Québec to establish a management framework for investigations into coordinated serial crimes (GECS).

“This is a unified command structure in which Quebec police services work together to rapidly detect and arrest crimes committed by poachers,” notes the SQ.

Any person may transfer information confidentially to the Criminal Information Center of the Sûreté du Québec at 1 800 659-4264.
