A man was arrested Wednesday on suspicion of robbing ten businesses, including a luxury clothing store, totaling more than $100,000.
The 26-year-old was arrested during a raid at his home, during which officers from the Service de Police de la Ville de Montréal (SPVM) recovered a large amount of stolen goods and burglary tools.
Between November and December, the alleged thief allegedly stole $55,000 worth of luxury clothing and $50,000 worth of electronics at 10 locations, including banks, restaurants and retailers, sporting goods and office supplies.
During the intervention in the Rosemont district, police also arrested another 50-year-old man who was on site at the same time and was wanted as part of the assault investigation. The army was in a different file.
The thief appeared in a Montreal court to face multiple charges including theft, breaking and entering and failure to comply with conditions. He was remanded in custody pending further legal action.
