Russia launched a missile attack on the Ukrainian capital Kiev, wounding at least 10 people and damaging residential buildings and industrial facilities, although military officials said all the missiles were shot down, city officials said.
Serhiy Popko, head of its military administration, said the attack early Thursday was the first large-scale attack in recent weeks targeting the city with ballistic and cruise missiles.

The commander of the Ukrainian Air Forces said that Ukrainian air defenses shot down all 31 Russian missiles that targeted the capital.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky called on Western countries to show “political will” to help Kiev.
