Sabrina Ionescu wins the 3-point contest
New York Liberty protégé Sabrina Ionescu couldn’t miss the final round of the WNBA All-Star 3-Point Tournament, scoring a WNBA-high 37 points and missing only two shots, on Friday at the Michelob Ultra Arena in Las Vegas.
They were faced in the first round by Seattle Storm guard Sammy Whitcombe with 28 points, but Whitcombe (24 points) and Dallas Wings guard and Final Three finalist Ariki Ogunboal (11 points) failed to reach Ionescu’s incendiary round.

Aces team wins skill challenge
The Aces of Chelsea Gray and Chelsea Bloom outlasted the other super-team of Team Liberty in the skills challenge final of a timed skills course to set the tone in Las Vegas this weekend. Gray and Bloom beat Sabrina Ionescu and Courtney Vandersloot’s time in the final run by 13 seconds after Gray passed him during the final run.
In the first round, Team Dream (Alisha Gray and Cheyenne Parker) and Team Wings (Ariki Ogunpoel and Sato Sabali) were eliminated early.
