Savannah Guthrie is leaving early today after testing positive for Covid

Savannah Guthrie tested positive for Covid on Tuesday while co-hosting today.


The anchor unexpectedly Get away early From the Tuesday broadcast. But her positive test was reported on air by Sheinelle Jones during the 8 a.m. hour of the show.


“By the way, it was an interesting morning for us,” Jones began. “Like we said, Savannah left early, she wasn’t feeling well, so she took a Covid test. It came back positive.”

Jones added, “And as soon as we found out, I rushed home to rest. So Savannah, we love you, and we wish you a speedy recovery.”


This isn’t the first time Guthrie, 51 – who has been vaccinated – has missed a dose today Broadcasting due to a positive Covid test. The first time it went live was in January 2022.




The host’s sick day comes only one day after her today Her counterpart, Hoda Kotb, was notably absent. Kotb, 58, did not return on Tuesday. There has been no public statement as to why Kotb has stopped broadcasting, or whether it is also related to Covid.
