Quebec police are searching for a suspect after another vehicle caught fire in the Saint-Sauveur department Sunday evening.
Just before 6 p.m., the Quebec fire protection service was called to respond to a burning car parked on rue du Cardinal-Taschereau.
Firefighters who rushed to the spot brought the fire under control and did not spread further.
Clues found at the site convinced the fire commissioner that it was a crime. The Quebec City Police Service (SPVQ) and judicial identities were called in to help shed light on the situation.
No one has been arrested in this case yet.
Second time in six days
This is the second arson attack on a car in less than a week.
In the early hours of last Tuesday, firefighters had to go to Rue Desroches in the department of Miserets to put out a similar fire.
A car parked directly on the side of the road caught fire and was destroyed, with several details suggesting a deliberate act.
SPVQ searched the entire area to nab the suspect but to no avail.
Recall that three people were arrested in connection with the last arson attack on a parked car in Lewes last week.
A spokesman for the Lévis City Police Department, Jean-Sébastien Levan, confirms that the story is “directly related to the armed conflict that began last fall.”
