Sifu faces difficulty modes

Players who have been suspended due to Sifu’s relentless difficulty can give the game another chance thanks to an easier difficulty mode coming next week. SlullabThe beat-em-up martial arts developer has revealed Sifu’s roadmap for the remainder of 2022.

The game’s first major update, coming out next Tuesday, May 3, includes advanced training, outfit selection, and most of all, difficulty options. The three options are Student, Student, and Master, where Student is supposed to offer an easier path for players who want to experience the world, combat, and story without a brutal learning curve. On the flip side, players looking to challenge themselves can look forward to mastering the difficulty.

The Spring Update is just the first of four content drops planned for Sifu this year. This summer will see new gameplay mods added to Sifu, including stronger enemies, a single health point challenge, a way to unlock all skills instantly, and more. The fall update will bring a reboot editor, and the winter update will add a new Arenas game mode.

Sifu is a brutal and unforgiving martial arts game that launched on PlayStation back in February. We called the game “amazing” in our Sifu review.

“On the other side of this sinister learning curve, though, it’s one of the most impressive rhythm games I’ve ever played, with excellent level design, great music and – once finished – the sense of accomplishment and satisfaction that few other video games can provide.” .
