Heavy, sticky snow covered the Estrey area and was waiting for shovels Monday morning.
Schools were closed in Estrie. This applies to those in the Sommets School Service Center, which provides suspended classes for all primary and secondary students as well as vocational training and adult education.
School transport has been stopped.
Next to the school service center of the Sherbrooke Region, we decided to suspend day school transport and classes at its elementary schools Notre-Dame-de-Liesse, de la Passerelle, des Enfants-de-la-Terre, Notre. -Dame-de-la-Paix, Hélène-Pouille and Deux-Rives.
Their daycare services are also closed. Employees working in these schools should not come to work.

At the Sûreté du Québec, a few people ran off the road, but there were no serious injuries.
40,000 households are without electricity
On the Hydro-Québec page, we report outages. About 40,000 customers of the state utility were without power on Monday morning. Memphrémagog sector was the worst hit, with nearly 20,000 homes cut off (35 outages).
23 outages were reported in Val-Saint-François, where 6,000 network subscribers were without power. In the Coticook area, more than 1,500 subscribers were waiting for power.
In Quebec, there was Nearly 119,000 Hydro-Québec customers in the dark Monday morning.
In Sherbrooke, houses were also stripped of power. According to Hydro-Sherbrooke, hundreds of subscribers were disconnected.
Environment Canada is forecasting snow, heavy at times, mixing with rain throughout the day, turning to rain around noon. Accumulations can reach 10 centimeters in the northern sector of the region. Winds around 20 km/h, with gusts as high as 40 in the afternoon. Temperatures are expected to rise up to 3 degrees.
