Super Bowl LVIII halftime headlines show
Usher celebrated both his past and present when he headlined the 2024 Super Bowl halftime show tonight (February 11) at Allegiant Stadium in Paradise, Nevada.
The R&B singer headlined the concert with a troupe of dancers and special guests, performing some of his biggest hits of the past two decades.
Fans were somewhat disappointed after Usher's friend and protégé Justin Bieber failed to appear on stage, despite their collaboration on the pop singer's iconic 2010 hit “Somebody to Love.”
However, they enjoyed appearances by rappers Lil Jon and Ludacris on the song “Yeah!” 2004, and Alecca Keys in the song “My Boo”.
The three-hour game between the Kansas City Chiefs and San Francisco 49ers is broadcast live on CBS. Fans in the UK will be able to watch the broadcast on ITV1.
Meanwhile, Taylor Swift is officially home, having exited a show in Tokyo to get to the game in time to watch her boyfriend Travis Kelce play.
Fans are disappointed by the lack of any special appearance from the Bieb
While viewers certainly seemed to enjoy Usher's show, there was a definite sense of disappointment at the lack of any surprise appearances from Justin Bieber, who was there on the field.
As a reminder, Usher was Bieber's mentor after he was discovered by music manager Scooter Braun. They later collaborated on Bieber's hit song “Somebody to Love.”
Unfortunately for the Biebathons or whatever his fans call him, the pop singer seemed happy to watch his friend from a box with his supermodel wife Hailey Bieber/Baldwin.

Usher has established himself as one of the greatest artists
Taking some cues from Michael Jackson, Usher gives the performance of his life, filled with stunning costume changes, great dance moves, and stellar vocals. I really enjoy how he mixes pop songs with some of his more poignant ballads.

Flashback: Taylor Swift and Usher perform “Yes!” In 2011
Amid the frenzy over Swift's presence at tonight's game, a clip has resurfaced of the moment she joined halftime show headliner, Usher, during her 2011 Speak Now tour.
The duo performed a fun rendition of the R&B star's 2004 song at what was then known as Phillips Arena (now renamed State Farm Arena), when Swift took some rap verses in place of the track's featured artists, Lil Jon. And Ludacris.

It's not long before Asher…
If, like me, you have absolutely no idea what's going on in the sports portion of tonight's event, you'll be relieved to know that we'll probably have 10 to 20 minutes before Usher takes the stage.
