1. Tyler Huntley remains the squad’s No. 2 quarterback, despite missing the previous two preseason games with a hamstring injury. Josh Johnson has been released, but he can stay with the team through the practice squad and could be called up to play.
2. An undrafted Keaton Mitchell appeared on the team as the Ravens elected to keep four players. Mitchell showed his explosive power in training camp practices and again in the first two preseason games. Now it will be interesting to see if he can make a matchday role.
3. Undrafted outside linebacker Malik Hamm also made the team. Hamm was a Baltimore native who grew up dreaming of playing for the Ravens, had a sack in the preseason opener and was an outstanding coach.
4. One of the reasons Hamm made the team could be that outside linebacker Theos Bauser is required to miss at least the first four games because he remains NFI-listed and continues to work his way back from a knee ailment.
5. BALTIMORE retained guard Ben Cleveland and released backup center Sam Mustiver. Cleveland had to go through waivers, while Mustifer is a veteran who could re-sign with Baltimore. Cleveland is one of the best backup players at right guard behind Kevin Zettler and can tackle while Sala Omavai Laulu develops.
6. The Ravens released fifth-round rookie draft pick Keogh Kelly, and instead selected veteran slot option Arthur Mullett. Maulet could provide more assistance in the hole, as rooks don’t have as much depth.
7. Tylan Wallace won the contest for the sixth wide receiver, defeating a crowded and talented field as he improved as a receiver, evidenced by two preseason touchdowns, and is a strong special teams player.
8. The Ravens held five linebackers, with veteran Del’Shawn Phillips taking the last spot. He beat out fellow special teams contributors Christian Welch and Josh Ross.
9. Cornerback Kevon Seymour and defensive end Brent Urban have both been released, but could be re-signed back to the Ravens’ 53-man roster soon (after cornerback Damarion “Pepe” Williams goes to injured reserve) or could go to the practice squad And it is called. Both could play Week 1 against the Houston Texans. Right now, the Ravens have just four defensemen on their 53-man roster with Urban, Angelo Blackson and Rayshad Nichols released.
10. Melvin Gordon III finished last season on the Kansas City Chiefs’ coaching staff and is eligible to do the same role with the Ravens, although undrafted rookie Owen Wright could also land a P.T.
