Taylor Swift continues to break box office records.

The pop star’s concert film Eras Tour grossed $31 million during its second weekend in theaters, the most of any concert film at the domestic box office.

The weekend number represents a 66% decline from the first weekend, which is on par with blockbusters from Marvel, DC and Star Wars.

“Swifties came back strong to give Eras Tour a strong debut weekend at the box office,” said Sean Robbins, senior media analyst at BoxOffice.com. “The film continues to break records for concert movies as it brings theaters much-needed foot traffic during a fourth quarter affected by Hollywood labor strikes.”

With ticket sales on Thursday alone, at just under $6 million, Swift has also managed to earn more than $100 million in the United States and Canada, making her film the first to do so.

Overall, Eras Tour earned an estimated $129.8 million at the domestic box office. AMC, which distributed the film, is scheduled to update international numbers on Monday. If Swift’s film surpasses $262.5 million before its run ends in November, it will be the highest-grossing global music film of all time, surpassing Michael Jackson’s 2009 “This Is It.”

“As unconventional releases go, Taylor Swift Eras Tour is a very welcome addition to the October movie market, and what could have been a fairly quiet passage has already received an impressive $130 million gross boost from the release of this unique concert film. ” Paul Dergarabedian, senior media analyst at comScore, said:

Indeed, the concert film Eras Tour had the widest domestic release for a concert film (opening in over 3,850 locations) and the highest domestic opening weekend for a concert film, surpassing “Best Miley Cyrus Concert” from 2008, which earned $31.1 million During its domestic debut, according to data from Comscore.

“Swift’s film demonstrates how outside-the-box thinking and innovation can yield unexpected results and improve the bottom line while providing guidance on how this alternative content can fill those quieter spots often left on the film release calendar,” Dergarabedian said.
