We already know what a beast the Dragon Range AMD Ryzen 9 7945HX APU is, after testing it extensively against competitors like the Raptor Lake Intel Core i9-13980HX and i9-13950HX. Now Zen 4 processor appeared on Traffic sign Benchmarking database, with three samples providing amazing results but with a high margin of error. Equipped with an RDNA2-based AMD Radeon 610M iGPU, the laptop processor achieved a single-thread test score of 4,405 and a CPU Mark multi-test combination score of 61,985. The website lists the Ryzen 9 7945HX as having a maximum TDP of 55W, but the 16-core, 32-thread part is configurable up to 75W.
Despite having a higher boost clock of 5.6GHz (Ryzen 9 7945HX: 5.4GHz), the Intel Core i9-13980HX was left far behind in the single-thread test. Its score of 4398 is close to that of Team Red’s Dragon Range chip, but this is a processor with a maximum turbo power of 157 watts (though PassMark scores 55 watts max here). While the AMD Ryzen 9 7945HX only takes a minuscule +0.16% advantage in the single-threaded standoff, it puts up a whopping 26.6%. driving above Raptor Lake in the CPU Mark (61,985 vs. 48,954). Indeed, the Zen 4 APU is very powerful, comparable to a modern Intel desktop processor – the new i9-13900KS is no less.
There have been plenty of instances where laptop processors have surpassed mainstream or previous-generation desktop parts, but this is Dragon Range mobile versus the Raptor Lake desktop. Unsurprisingly, the Intel Core i9-13900KS with its top clock speed of 6.0GHz and 253W TDP capability (recorded at 125W on PassMark) can reasonably outperform the Ryzen 9 7945HX in the single-thread test: 4,809 vs. 4405 or +9.17%. However, the Zen 4 mobile APU can still superiority The i7-13700K desktop is in this specific niche, and it’s more than a contender in our CPU Mark test suite.
The AMD Ryzen 9 7945HX’s impressive score of 61,985 in the multi-test puts it within striking distance of Intel’s 24-core desktop processor. With a score of 62,166 points, the power-hungry i9-13900KS desktop is only +0.29% ahead of a more efficient mobile processor. Someone may be complaining Comparison A mobile chip with a desktop part, but AMD has produced a formidable unit with the Ryzen 9 7945HX so that seems fair for now. It’s also worth remembering that this great laptop category Healer It comes with 64MB of L3 cache.
