An 18-year-old man was allegedly attacked by several armed men on Monday afternoon inside the Collège de Maisonneuve in Montreal’s Hochelaga-Maisonneuve district.
The events took place around 3pm inside the walls of the school, located on Sherbrooke Street East near Nicollet Street.
According to our information, the victim was surrounded by a group of people inside the computer room before he was brutally assaulted.
“We know a weapon was used, but we still don’t know exactly what kind of weapon it was,” said Sébastien Coulombe, a spokesman for Argens Santé.
On SPVM’s side, we talk about an attack with the help of an “unknown object”.
Suffering injuries to his upper body, the victim fled from the assailants and took shelter at the college hospital two floors below.
The teenager was taken to hospital for treatment of serious injuries to his upper body. He is said to be in serious but stable condition. We will not fear for his life.
By late afternoon, no arrests had been made in the case and a motive for the attack was unknown.
The Collège de Maisonneuve administration did not inform students of the alleged attack, and classes continued as normal, with certain students condemning the encounter on the spot.
