What is confrontation?
As the name suggests, Face-Off pits two things against each other and decides which of the two is better. In this case, you are voting to determine the best game in The Legend of Zelda series. It is possible to watch certain games multiple times, so you can keep voting for your favorite games to ensure they rank higher than the rest. IGN’s resident team of Zelda experts have pre-selected 18 games for you to choose from. They are randomly paired and each time they pick a winner, they are tracked.
How is the winner determined?
When voting ends on May 11, the day before The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom arrives, we’ll tally the total number of “wins” and “losses” each Zelda video game has and create a ranked list based on the choices that will go straight into May 12th. The game that won the most matches would be crowned the “winner”, and in the event of a tie in the number of “wins”, the game with the fewest “losses” would get the lead. If you keep voting for your favorite game, they will have a better chance of ranking at the top of the list. You can vote as many times as you like until the Face-Off closes.
How do I know when I clicked everything?
It’s hard to know when you watched each Zelda video game involved because they are randomly matched, and there are many possible matches. Playing until you have voted for all of your favorite games or making sure that there are no specific games in the winner’s circle are different options you can make with Face-Off. By selecting the winner throughout all of these matches, you ensure that your choices for the best Zelda video game will have a fighting chance of making it to the top of the list.
What legend of Zelda video game have you included?
The list of games from The Legend of Zelda series that we have selected all come from the main Zelda games that we all know and love. This includes everything from the original release in 1986 through the 2017 release of The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild on all platforms, but does not include separate entries for remasters/remakes. This means that Ocarina of Time for N64 and Ocarina of Time 3D for 3DS are the same entry, so you can consider all of that when you cast your vote! We also haven’t added spin-offs like Age of Calamity: Hyrule Warriors, or games featuring Zelda characters like Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. , or fun Philips CD-i titles like Zelda: The Wand of Gamelon. We wanted to focus this showdown on the main series so we could really see what IGN fans think is the best Zelda ever.
