Snow is expected in the southern part of the province in the coming hours.
“Strong northwesterly winds cause temperatures to drop rapidly and make surfaces icy and slippery,” says Environment Canada.
Many sectors, such as Beauce, Charlevoix, Quebec and Saguenay, will be affected by cold winds between -38 and -42 on Tuesday morning.
The appearance of this extreme cold is a combination of Arctic air mass and strong winds.
Warning
Environment Canada points out that this frost can pose a “high” risk to the health of people and pets.
“Younger children, the elderly, people with chronic illnesses and those who work out or exercise are at higher risk,” one study read.
Blizzards can completely reduce vision, although they are “brief but intense”.
