The raids carried out by the Israeli army in the city of Jenin in the occupied West Bank resulted in an increasing number of casualties since they began on Tuesday and entered their third day.
The Palestinian Ministry of Health said in a statement that eight Palestinians were martyred in the Jenin refugee camp alone since Tuesday. Israeli forces have killed 58 people, including children, in Jenin alone since October 7.
Kamal Abu Al-Rub, the acting governor of Jenin, said that more Israeli forces are heading towards the city and the camp, in what is the fifteenth army incursion into this area since October 7.
Abu Al-Rub told Al Jazeera that all roads leading to the camp were destroyed by military bulldozers, that its hospitals were besieged, and soldiers were preventing ambulances from evacuating the sick and wounded.
The occupation forces arrested about 500 citizens, and released 400 of them. He added that due to the siege of the camp, those released were unable to return and took refuge in an area near Jenin.
The Palestinian Red Crescent Society said: Dozens of citizens suffer from a severe shortage of baby milk and bread, as a result of the occupation soldiers deploying on the roofs of their homes, preventing them from leaving.
At least 283 Palestinians in the West Bank, including 64 children, have been killed by Israeli fire and more than 4,000 others have been arrested since the start of the war, according to Palestinian officials.
