Portland Photographer Jai Shah He visited the Peter Iredale shipwreck at Fort Stevens State Park along the northwest Oregon coast Saturday night to catch the Perseid meteor shower during its peak. His photos from the shower captured falling stars, the Milky Way, glowing bioluminescent and a ship on the horizon resembling a sunset.
Shah stresses that he only shoots single long exposure shots. He also said bioluminescence was shimmering all over his shoes the night he took the pictures.
The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration currently expects clear or mostly clear skies over Oregon at the height of the meteor shower tonight.
