Parti Québécois leader Paul St-Pierre Plamondon reiterated his “full support” for a candidate targeted by an article in a local newspaper that said he had starred in a pornographic film.
“[Andréanne Fiola] A determined and intelligent young woman is raising awareness among hundreds of thousands of people for freedom and environmental causes. Keep up the great work Andrean,” the chef responded on Twitter Friday morning.
Andréanne Fiola is a candidate for Laval-des-Rapides in Laval. In a Facebook post, he confirms that he participated in the “production of explicit digital content published on several adult sites.”
She mentions that everything was done in a consensual way, but her face is not shown to preserve her anonymity.
“Although I fully accept my actions and my choices, the content was removed at my request some time ago because I do not wish to expose my privacy in this way,” he wrote.
“I regret the consequences for those around me and I will not make this kind of choice again,” he continues, before thanking his boss for his faith and indicating that he will continue his campaign.
It was Corriere de Laval that revealed the facts on Friday morning, indicating that a video had been posted on Pornhub.
The article cited a Liberal candidate, Michael Trottier, a former leader of the Laval party, who said Ms. Piola was already a candidate.
Mr. Trottier, had he known, would never have accepted him as a candidate.
