Update 11/29/22: We’re still just a few hours away from the Nintendo Direct broadcast today with the second official trailer for the Super Mario Bros. movie. (This is at 2pm UK time today).
Regardless, new artwork for the movie has surfaced online and is in the works now subscriber About social media – including a first look at Mayor Pauline, last seen in Super Mario Odyssey, and a height chart for the movie’s main stars.

The Super Mario Bros. movie has been announced. In 2018, a collaboration between Nintendo’s Illumination animation division and Universal Pictures, it sees Chris Pratt, as Mario, at the helm. All-star cast Including Jack Black as Bowser and Anya Taylor-Joy as Princess Peach.
we got Promise the first glimpse From the Mario movie back in October, with the first trailer managing to look the part and get a few successful visual gags – with Jack Black and Keegan-Michael Key, playing Toad, clearly having a blast in their roles.
There was one thing we didn’t hear much about though, Chris Pratt, whose casting as Mario has proven somewhat controversial since his announcement. Most of us expected to finally get a taste of Pratt’s – previously teased – performance as it goes “Unlike anything you’ve ever heard” in Mario – in the number one trailer, but instead the iconic plumber only appeared in passing appearances, with Pratt’s only two lines of dialogue.
That may be about to change with the release of the second trailer, which In a Nintendo Direct specialTomorrow, November 29, at 10pm UK / 2pm PT. No information about the game will appear in the Direct, but Nintendo is touting its arrival with an image of Peach’s throne room, suggesting Anya Taylor-Joy might be ready to lend her voice for the first time as Peach.
The Super Mario Bros. movie is expected to premiere. — which stars Seth Rogen as Donkey Kong, Fred Armisen as Cranky Kong, and Sebastian Maniscalco as Spike — out on April 7 next year. You can read Eurogamer Thoughts on that first trailer in another place.
