Cast Young Sheldon Wrestling with a major loss.
In the third and final episode of Thursday’s program The Big Bang Theory In the prequel, Sheldon’s father, George, died of a heart attack. It’s an end The Big Bang Theory Fans knew what to expect, but that didn’t make it any easier, either for the cast or for the viewers.
“I’ve had the luxury of preparing emotionally for this for seven years,” Lance Barber, who plays George on the series, told ET during a visit set for March. “That doesn’t stop it from falling on you in a weird way when you’re in those moments.”
Montana Jordan And Zoe Perrywho plays Sheldon’s brother, Georgie, and his mother, Mary, agreed.
“I don’t know if anyone is preparing anyone for this. It’s just going to have to hit you, and hit you hard, too,” Jordan told ET of George’s death. Perry added, “We knew we were going to end up there.” Time, but finding out how and it’s still so new to us, I imagine that if it’s sad for us, it’ll be sad for people who watched it from the beginning.
No matter how devastating George’s death was, the actor behind Sheldon, Ian Armitagehe told ET that it’s not all sad.
“What I love is that the last episode where we see George is really just a beautiful, wonderful episode until the end [moment]He said. “…You barely see it coming, so it’s not like the whole episode is sad and depressing.”
Barber noted that while there will likely be “mixed reactions” to his character’s death, he hopes this is a positive step in the closure process.
“I hope everyone prepares themselves and uses this to vent. I think some people may struggle with this and others will celebrate it,” he said. “I hope that, ultimately, everyone finds it satisfying in some way that we were able to enjoy the beginning, middle, and end of the story, and move on to a new story.” [in the upcoming spinoff]. I think it’s all very elegant.”
Not only does George die, but the cast also has to deal with the end of the series.
“We’ve been through some emotions and some tears, all the right things that you expect after seven years of being together on this amazing journey,” Barber told ET, along with his on-screen mother-in-law, Annie Potts. “It will be a very emotional time for us here and for those who watched the show.”
As for what fans will think of the upcoming two-part finale, which will air May 16 on CBS, Armitage joked: “I hope they don’t hate it.”
“I’m impressed The Big Bang Theory “And I’m a little biased, but…I really enjoyed it,” he said. “I’m enjoying working on these last few episodes, so if I hold myself as my measure, I think it’s going to be a good performance.” “Our writers are amazing and I trust them completely, so it’s hard for them to get them wrong.”
When it comes to the show’s legacy, Armitage knows exactly how he wants to be remembered.
“In 20 or 30 years, or maybe 10 or 20 years, I hope people who watch this show will be able to [now, who are] My age or a little older, they watch with their kids or they say, Oh, remember Young Sheldon? He was amused. “I’ve always loved that,” he told ET. “…I would like it to be a piece of nostalgia and a comforting show.”
