A Montreal family received a surprising call.
Indy, a now 11-year-old cat, was found earlier this month by a passerby, who took her to the Ottawa Humane Society.
It was only because the black and white furry animal was microchipped that they were able to find it and contact its owners.
“I was in shock, to say the least. It was a big surprise, but a happy surprise. I called her Houdini because you never know where she’s going to show up,” her owner, Grant Pretorius, told Global News.
This time the little wizard has outdone himself. The man searched for her for weeks and put up posters to find her in vain.
“I assumed the worst and I could never turn the page,” she said.
In terms of setting, Indy’s story is also top notch. “We are often able to reunite animals that have been missing for a few weeks, a few months, but to see an animal that has been missing for years, eight in fact, is very unusual,” explained the organization’s head of communications. Stephen Smith.
Although we don’t know how the little cat ended up in another province, Mr. According to Smith, we can suspect that someone is watching over him.
“She came into our care and was well taken care of and very friendly,” he said.
Back home, Indy meets a new friend: Koda, the 11-year-old cat of Grand Pretorius’s friend Amanda Christina Mego.
