Rapper Travis Scott was arrested in Paris after allegedly getting into a drunken fight with his bodyguard hours after sitting in a stadium to watch Team USA at the Olympics, according to local reports.
The 33-year-old “Butterfly Effect” singer was arrested by police early Friday after a boozy night out in the French capital with his entourage, a local newspaper reported. Le Parisien newspaper report.
The shootout between Scott, whose real name is Jack Webster, and his bodyguard – which reportedly turned physical – took place at the luxury Four Seasons George V hotel in the city’s upscale 8th arrondissement.
Scott, who is currently staying at the celebrity resort during the 2024 Olympics, returned to the hotel late Thursday night before getting involved in a fight with a member of his team, law enforcement sources told the newspaper.
“He was not in a fit state to be questioned immediately, so he was put in a cell where he is still regaining consciousness,” an informed source told the newspaper.
The rapper, who was reportedly under the influence of drugs at the time of the ordeal, was arrested just after 5 a.m. local time, and officers said he was still “regaining consciousness” in his cell ahead of a round of questioning.
Police were called to the hotel, which is located moments from the Champs-Elysees, sources said.
The “Syco Mode” singer, who has two children with ex-girlfriend Kylie Jenner, is currently in Paris for the Olympics.
Scott joined his friend and rapper Quavo and Fanatics CEO Michael Rubin in the front row at the USA vs. Serbia basketball semifinal late Thursday.
The trio showed a range of emotions during the thrilling game, which saw the USA men’s basketball team overcome a double-digit deficit in the fourth quarter and advance to Saturday’s final against France.
The 10-time Grammy nominee’s arrest comes just one day after body camera footage was released of his arrest in Miami Beach on trespassing charges on June 20.
In the video, Scott told police officers he was “scared” by their large presence after officers responded to a report of a fight between people on a yacht and found Scott standing by the dock and yelling at boaters.
Scott was then arrested on charges of trespassing and public intoxication, the latter charge having since been dropped.
