In Quebec, the Quebec City Police Department (SPVQ) has opened an investigation into the first suspected arson fire in an abandoned building on 4th Street in the Limoileaux district.
Around 11.30 pm, ten firefighters were called to douse the fire. Police were immediately called to the scene after several clues pointed to a suspicious fire.
A recycling bin on 5th Street was also intentionally set on fire sometime between Friday and Saturday night. According to the SPVQ, the damage was confined to the tank and did not spread.
Firefighters from the Quebec Fire Protection Service were also called to intervene on 3rd Street at the same time, still in the Limoileaux district.
A sudden fire broke out behind a building on this street. On Saturday morning the SPVQ indicated that the fire was not criminal.
