Unreal Engine 5’s new psychological horror game, Stray Souls, has been officially announced

Stray Souls, a psychological horror game from director Artur Laczkowski, developer Jukai Studio, and publisher Versus Evil, has been officially announced for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X | S and PS4. It is scheduled to be released later this year, and is being developed using Unreal Engine 5.

The premise of Stray Souls is interesting: Daniel’s teenage grandmother dies and leaves her house – completely debt-free (no mortgage, etc.) – but the real estate dream quickly turns into a nightmare when the sun goes down and all hell begins to unravel at the house. Jukai will use Epic’s Metahuman technology to make more realistic NPCs. Take a look at the first trailer above and the first screenshots in the gallery below.

Jukai describes the action this way: “Stray Souls combines the beloved elements of Japanese survival horror games with a host of new tricks, including a variety of random systems where enemy encounters, item placement, paranormal activity, and even weather patterns are always changing so there’s no Two playbacks are exactly the same.”
