‘Very encouraging’: Poilivre slammed by pro-Russians for supporting Ukraine

On the 1st anniversary of the Russian invasion of Ukraine, the Canadian political class took the opportunity to condemn Russian aggression, but some disliked the statement from the leader of the pro-Russian Conservative Party.

In the middle of Friday, Pierre Poilievre wanted to condemn Russia’s actions and the brutal war it provoked.

“One year ago today, Russian aggression took a brutal new form with the invasion of Ukraine. […] Canada must always defend freedom and democracy against tyrants,” he wrote on his Twitter account.

The comments below the official opposition leader’s statement did not go unnoticed.

Many proponents of pro-Russian ideology have expressed their displeasure, arguing that NATO is responsible for the atrocities in Ukraine.

“Everything about Ukraine was wrong from the beginning. Pierre Poilievre is a bad choice,” writes one user.

“NATO provoked the Russian invasion. Zelensky is beyond corruption. Pierre Poilivre is just another globalist who acts like everyone else. [politiciens]Another internet user says.

“It’s so encouraging,” chimes in one woman who says she “hates the Trudeau Liberals.”

Some Pierre Poilievre supporters are even considering breaking with their Conservative Party members.

Agence France-Presse reported in March 2022 that several Western conspiracy stars were adhering to the Kremlin’s propaganda and its information war.
