Despite the low temperatures, Quebecers will be able to enjoy a sunny Sunday before the week begins in snow and rain.
The forecast temperature for Sunday in Montreal is 6 degrees with generally sunny skies. Towards Quebec, the mercury drops to around 4 degrees, with Sunday still clear skies. According to Environment Canada experts, this is completely within the season’s regulations.
In Estrie, intermittent rain is expected to continue until late afternoon.
Light snow expected Abitibi-Temiskamingu and Saguenay should stay below freezing.
These will also be the areas most affected by the weather system that crossed Quebec from the west earlier in the week.
Rain should begin in Abitibi during the night from Sunday to Monday, then move towards the rest of the province during the day.
Areas south of the St. Lawrence River are expected to receive rain in the form of rain, while Abidibi and areas to the north are expected to receive snow. Quebec will receive a mix of snow and rain.
An average of 5 to 10 mm of rain is expected in warmer areas and 5 to 15 cm of snow in colder areas.
