A winter storm that has swept through southern and central parts of the province since Sunday will affect eastern Quebec, with significant amounts of snow expected by Tuesday morning.

Darker conditions will persist in parts of southern Quebec, with light snow and gusty winds of 60 km/h. At this time, no school closures have been announced.

In Montreal, temperatures will not exceed 3 degrees and surrounding areas will be buffeted by strong winds, while generally cloudy weather is expected in western Quebec.
Environment Canada is predicting up to 5 centimeters of snow in some parts of the center of the province, especially in the Estrie and Beauce, while light snow will mix with rain in the afternoon in Quebec.
The federal agency has issued a winter storm warning for parts of the eastern part of the province, where conditions could worsen with significant snow accumulation, blowing snow and strong winds.
“A total of 20 to 30 cm of snow is expected by Tuesday morning. In addition, with winds of up to 90 kilometers per hour, visibility will drop to zero during snowfall,” the federal agency said.
On Tuesday, the sun will return despite some cloudy areas in the southwest and center of the province, where the mercury will rise, and some snow or rain in eastern Quebec.
