Bad weather will continue Wednesday with rain in southern and central Quebec, which could receive up to 40 millimeters of rain in near-autumn temperatures.
A rain warning issued by Environment Canada is also in effect for much of Greater Montreal with two crowns.
“We are expecting 15 to 25 millimeters of rain today. However, levels may reach 40 millimeters locally,” the federal agency pointed out on its website.
In the center of the province, a coastal swell warning is in effect, with afternoon thunderstorms expected, particularly in Quebec.
“Higher than normal water levels are expected near the coast on Wednesday morning,” according to the meteorological service in Canada’s Quebec region.
Elsewhere in Quebec, generally cloudy weather is forecast to clear, especially in Gaspésie, while in Abitibi-Témiscamingue, the sun will return below 22 degrees.
Temperatures will still be chilly everywhere before the mercury starts to rise again over the weekend.
On Thursday, southwestern Quebec will be out of the rain, unlike other parts of the province, which will experience scattered thunderstorms.
