Terrebonne police are investigating a Friday morning homicide at an apartment building in Terrebonne, on Montreal’s North Shore.
According to our information, the victim is a woman. A suspect was arrested by police officers dispatched to the scene, authorities confirmed. Police have not released the relationship between the suspect and the victim.
The murder took place shortly before 7am in a residential building on rue du Bocage.

A security perimeter has been set up and investigators are expected to reach the site early in the day to begin their investigation.
The circumstances of the crime were not known this morning.

January 5 (femicide): Chloé Lauzon-Rivard, 29, was killed in her home in Granby. His accomplice, Michaël Dugas-Farcy, 32, was arrested hours later, 200 kilometers from the crime scene.
January 26 (femicide): Narjess Ben Yedder, 32, was brutally stabbed twenty times in his home in the Pointe-aux-Trembles district. A pregnant woman is also killed. Her husband, Mustafa McCann, 42, called police to report her. He is arrested at the scene of the crime.
February 12 (femicide): Lorraine Marsolais, 80, was stabbed to death by her partner, Jean-Guy Forest, 82, in an apartment in L’Pibani, in the Lanadier area. An eight-year-old man took his own life using a gun.
February 16: 44-year-old Fabio Puglisi plunged into a murderous frenzy in Vaudreuil-Dorion: he stabbed his 68-year-old mother Elisabetta Caucci-Puglisi to death before attacking two neighbors who came to help the victim. One of them, Manon Blanchard, 53, was killed during the attack.
February 18 (femicide): Hayette Bouguellid, 51, was stabbed to death in her home in Saint-Basile-le-Grand, Montérégie. Her husband Mohammad Ali Mosbah, 53, was arrested at the scene of the murder.
February 25: A fire broke out in a residence in the Loretteville sector in Quebec. In the rubble, emergency services found the body of 42-year-old Joëlle Lapointe. Police immediately confirmed that the woman was murdered.
March 27 (femicide): Louise Houle, 70, who had started divorce proceedings, was shot dead by her 67-year-old husband, Mario Nadon. The latter then ends his life, lying down next to the victim.
April 9 (femicide): Josianne Faucher, 27, was found dead in her home in Candiac, Montérégie. She was stabbed to death by her jealous ex-partner David Tota, 38.
April 25: Suzanne Fortin, 78, was killed in her home alone with her dog in Montmagny, near Quebec. Shortly after the murder, the alleged perpetrator caught up with the police. Eric Contin, 33, was arrested and charged with involuntary manslaughter.
April 30: Jo-Anne Patri is found unconscious in her home, inside which a fire has just started. His throat was cut and he was pronounced dead on the spot. A co-worker he was hosting at his home, Prescilla Fournier-Dobel, 29, was arrested and charged with involuntary manslaughter.
May 3: A woman was found murdered in an apartment building in Terrebonne. The suspect was arrested at the scene. The circumstances of the crime are unknown.
