The Yankees won Game 4 on Sunday night to force the winner to win Game 5. The winner will take on Houston Astros in ALCS. The loser goes home. Here’s how you can watch Game 5. However, due to rainfall in the forecast, the start of Game 5 has been delayed. No date has been announced for when the premiere will be rescheduled.
The MLB makes all decisions about the weather in the post-season and the league has been meeting nearly every hour since 6 p.m. ET. The first presentation is scheduled for 7:07 p.m. ET.
“I think everyone was on the same line when we talked,” Guardians coach Terry Francona said of the noon calls with the two teams. “As long as we can play the game and it doesn’t look like it’s going to be interrupted and we have that bit of strength from the score, (we’d like) to play.”
Game 2 of ALDS was postponed due to rain, forcing the Yankees and Guardians to play games 2-5 on four consecutive days. Current expectations are that a postponement of Game 5 is unlikely. From CBS News New York:
If Game 5 is postponed, it will be played on Tuesday, during what is currently set off the day between ALDS and ALCS. This could be a very good afternoon game as the winner has to travel to Houston for the first game of the ALCS on Wednesday.
