A large low-pressure system is approaching Quebec with snow and ice storms that will blow through the southern and central parts of the province, which will not fail to complicate the return home on Wednesday.
The blizzard will affect Montreal’s metropolitan area of Outauais and Montérégie, particularly with up to 20 millimeters of freezing rain, or more in places, Environment Canada said.
In addition to travel hazards due to slippery roads, this episode of freezing rain associated with moderate winds can be a bad factor, which can lead to power outages.
The system should move towards the center of the province during the day on Wednesday, bringing snow to all parts of Quebec, Beaux, Maurice and Saguenay, while rain and snow in Estrie.
According to the federal agency’s forecasts, parts of eastern Quebec will be relatively protected, with sunshine expected, especially on the north shore, but the mercury will drop in early April.
Meanwhile, conditions will remain stable on Tuesday, while temperatures in the southern province will touch 10 degrees.
